Lost Loved One
Lost Loved One
Friday, We had to say goodbye to our sweet loved one… Kitten. She was an amazing kind and gentle kitty.
Thursday morning our kitty started to get sick, we didn’t think really anything was wrong just maybe a hair ball or she ate something like ribbon which she tends to do time to time even if we throw it away. She would always tend to find a way to get it.
So when we saw she got sick with some ribbon in it (sorry its kind of gross) but we figured she was done getting sick and would bounce back like always. Well by Friday at noon she was still looking like she felt crappy, so we decided maybe she had some stuck in her belly and took her to the vet for an x-ray to see if that was the cause.
She was so loved and such a great cat we were ready to do what we needed to to make her feel better. But the news was not good, the x-ray showed an object in her stomach that the vets were not sure what it was, and then they wanted to do in-house blood work since she was so weak.
Then we got the worst news a pet owner can get; her kidneys and liver were failing her. They said they didn’t think that she would make it through the night, she was 10-11 years old, had been an outside cat prior to us inheriting her and she was just weak and too old to fight.
Jermie had to leave for work before the blood work came back, so with the help of my sister, Angie and sister-in-law Karina. We had to make the decision. It was an easy choice knowing it was best for her, but hard knowing she wasn’t ever coming back home with us.
She purred till the end… looked me in the eyes with her sweet look she would give while laying on me, and just fell asleep forever.
I love and miss that kitty so much everyday, laying on the couch isn’t the same, she doesn’t jump up with her little “meow” and lay on my chest putting her head against my chin and arms to the side of my neck… it plain sucks

It has been less than a year since we lost Coco.. This makes 2 family members we have had to say our goodbyes to over the last year.
Give your critters all the love you have everyday, let them know how much you enjoy and love them. Give them kisses and hugs. They are family.
